Dubai kicks off the season every March with the
two biggest international events of the year: the
Dubai Desert Classic and the Dubai World Cup.
Since
the inception of these internationally acclaimed
events, Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa has taken
great pride in being a major sponsor for both these
events. This year will be no exception, and 2003
will mark the eighth consecutive year that Jebel
Ali Golf Resort & Spa sponsors the Dubai World
Cup's Godolphin Mile Race, as well as being the
Official Caterer to the World Cup; and the fifteenth
consecutive year sponsoring the Dubai Desert Classic
as the Official Hotel & Caterer.
Dubai
Desert Classic
The
curtain raiser to the 2003 Dubai Desert Classic,
the fifth annual Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa
Challenge Match will take place on the championship
standard Resort Course on Tuesday 4th March 2003.
Tiger Woods, the world's number 1 player, will again
be amongst the several world class golfers that
have graced the fairways and greens of the Resort
Course during previous Challenge Matches.
Tiger
Woods will team up with Mark O'Meara (former Masters
and British Open Champion) in a bid to win the Challenge
Match Trophy. Their competitors include none other
than World number 2 Ernie Els and his team partner
Darren Clarke (Ryder Cup star and winner of 2002
Compass English Open), as well as Colin Montgomerie
(European Order of Merit Winner seven times) and
Thomas Bjorn (Dubai Desert Classic Winner 2001),

2002.

range, enjoy several on-site water sports, indulge

competition at the Jebel Ali Shooting Club, as Nick
Faldo did.
During
the 2003 Desert Classic (6th - 9th March), Jebel
Ali Golf Resort & Spa will continue its tradition
of catering gourmet cuisine meals three times daily
to some 2500 golf spectators at the Emirates Golf
